Yes it's possible, see the link above on using external drivers.

See the Duet 2 Wifi/Ethernet tab under 'Connection options' section in the above link.If the drivers require no more than about 2mA @ 3V on the step, dir and enable inputs, then you can drive them directly from the Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet Expansion header or CONN_LCD header. The Expansion header has support for 5 external drivers. The CONN_LCD header supports two external drivers.
You can't drive a stepper motor directly from the pins. You will need some kind of stepper driver, and probably a breakout board. See the Examples section lower down, too. It's all on that page.
