motherboard replacement

@adventureman You tell us here what's wrong with it, and if we diagnose that it's a manufacturing fault, we approve a warranty replacement subject to our warranty policy: https://www.duet3d.com/page/warranty-policy
Start by saying when and where you brought it from, and the result of following this guide: https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Troubleshooting/Duet_wont_respond

i have3 followed all the blogs and procedures from the duet site to connect to the motherboard to no avail. i have tried connecting with both wifi and usb and in all cases i get a message that says that communication was rejected. i have updated all firmware per the discussion forums and have followed all instructions for accessing via usb and duettest.local but cannot connect to the motherboard. i am at my wits end and do not know what else to do. it is a duet 2 wifi board . thanks for any help you can give
-
the board was purchased through ali express about a moth and a half ago
-
@adventureman duet don't sell on AliExpress so I'm afraid you have a cloned board.
-
@adventureman as @jay_s_uk says, it's not made by Duet3D. Contact the seller on AliExpress. They'll probably send you a new one.
Follow this link https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Troubleshooting/Duet_wont_respond, tell us what works and what doesn't, post a picture of the board when USB power is plugged in and the lights are on.

ok so i got it to connect to the port com3 and it shows a duet on that com port but now im getting a low voltage event in yat along with no configuration files found message. i pulled the sd card and the files are there just as they were in the download. it also said that my wifi is now connected but still cannot access through the ip address

@adventureman Post the sys/config.g file from the SD card (either copy and paste the text, or upload the file). If you can connect via YAT, send M122, and copy and paste the response into your reply here.
Put the SD card in your PC, and take a screen shot of the folder structure. At a minimum, there should be a sys folder (with the config files in it) and a www folder (with the web interface files in it). See https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/SD_card#sd-card-structure. The SD card needs to be in the Duet for the web interface to work, and if you remove it, either reset the Duet or send
M21
so it sees the SD card.If you think the SD card isn't working in the Duet, see the troubleshooting section here: https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/SD_card#troubleshooting-sd-card-issues
The low voltage warning is probably that there is something in the config that tries to move a motor or turn on a heater. You can ignore this for now.

Ugh, the cloners always put such old firmware on their boards. Almost certainly this is part of the problem. Probably the configuration files on the SD card are for a later version of the firmware, if you created them using the Configuration Tool: https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/
SD card 0 detected, interface speed: 20.0MBytes/sec
SD card longest block write time: 0.0ms, max retries 0The SD card interface is working, and it seems to be seeing a card is there, though hasn't tried to access it.
Supply voltage: min 1.1, current 24.1, max 24.1, under voltage events: 2, over voltage events: 0, power good: yes
That's a bit odd. Dodgy power supply or connections?

ok
WiFi is working fine. I Imagine most of your problems are down to the out-of-date firmware, and files on the SD card.
To update the firmware, I'd tend to erase the firmware and flash the latest with Bossa, see https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/Updating_firmware#fallback-procedure-2Because to get it working with the current firmware will require you to change the files on the SD card back to the ones that match RRF 2.05.1 (from here https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/2.05.1), then do the incremental upgrade described here: https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/RepRapFirmware/Updating_firmware#updating-from-older-firmware-versions

ok i got the new firmware to download and now the wifi is working and i can connect to the duet. now it seem like the polarity on the motor is reversed. when trying to home it goes in the opposite direction. can you help with this as well? dont really understand the control panel for duet

@adventureman See the guides on the wiki, on the left side. Work through them to understand how to change the configuration with config.g. Specifically for changing the motor direction, see https://docs.duet3d.com/en/How_to_guides/Commissioning#h-10-check-stepper-motors and see the sub section 'Reversing a stepper motor". But really you want to start at the beginning of this page, and check through everything.
