      Hi,

i replaced BlTouch witj Mini IR Sensor… and until yesterday works fine, but this morning think something is wrong.

      Why say this?

A- Because before, when i power on printer flashes, and now, no flashes at start
B- Because before, when i head is near bed, a light power on, and now nothing.
C- And the last... in webcontrol when head was near bead, in Z-probe, marked arround 500, and now marks 700 with grey background.

      Some idea?

      Thanks

definitely something does not work …

I have tried to calibrate the printer, and it starts well, but when it has 7 tested points (it is a Delta), the print head starts to fall very slowly, it does not detect the bed, and it hits against it. It's strange, since yesterday it worked correctly.

I try to move the head manually, and when it approaches the bed, it can be read in the web interface (Z-probe = 252), I continue to lower the head manually, and go to read in the web interface (Z-probe = 752 (WITH GRAY BACKGROUND)), and if I keep going down, until nozzle is in contact with the bed, the readings of (Z-Probe, do not stop changing, with a gray background of 592 to 752).

        What I can do?

          Hello peirof.
What's your bed surface? Did you paint it black?

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is =)

home your printer so the hot end is far away from the surface, then look at the sensor in the web interface it should read 0 or close to. If it doesn't check to make sure there is nothing stock on the LED's actually make sure they are still there. I had a part collision and it knocked them off the board. Also check your wiring if for some reason the plug is on backwards it will read triggered all the time. If it does read zero check your bed surface, matte black is the best.

You will want to put a surface like buildtak, Matte black PEI Or pick up some Matte black High temp oven/grill paint from the hardware store and paint the bed surface. Anything to reflective or clear will make the sensor act crazy. It would also cause the sensor to work fine one minute and be crazy the next.

I would check your connections thoroughly. If you not getting blinking lights when it is powered up you are likely not getting power at the board.

one possibility…. wiring issue, tomorrow test.

I haved rewiring betewn Duet and IR Sensor.... but think, the wire i have used its not the correct.... to thin.

What wire its adecuate? for aprox 1 m of distance, maybe 80 cms

                      Thanks..

The wire gauge isn't critical, although with thinner wires it is more difficult to get reliable crimp connections at the ends of the cable.

This range of wires can be used?

                            AWG Number 20-24 (0,8118 mm2 -0,5105 mm2)

The most likely cause is that there is a bad connection between the IR sensor and the Duet, most likely in the crimp connection at one end of the cable, and probably in the ground wire. If you have a multimeter, please measure the voltage between the VCC and GND pins on the sensor. It should be 3.3V.

                                    hi,

                                    i have do some test:

1- I have dismount Mini Ir Sensor from Nozzle, and put him near board, with short wires, tested.
2- I have measure voltage between VCC and GND, 2,84 V.
3- I have put close a surface… some photos, the same yesterday...

FIRST TEST - ON A METAL SURFACE

SECOND TEST - SEPARATED 2 MM METAL SURFACE

the lights do not turn on …..

It's strange that it is only getting 2.84V and not 3.3v Please measure the voltage between the +3.3V and GND pins on the Z probe connector, to see whether the Duet is providing insufficient voltage or the problem lies in the cable.

Thanks. If the sensor is getting 3.26V but the red LED doesn't light up when you put a piece of paper below the sensitive area, then it has developed a fault. I will send you a replacement.
