I am running through the commissioning steps for a Duex5 and I have hit a snag. I am sending the M115 command to the duet wifi and its response is only showing the Deut Wifi, it doesn't see the expansion board. I have a 1.02 Wifi and a 0.8 Duex5. I am running 1.20RC1. I had been running the wifi on another machine and it was functioning properly. Now I am building a new machine that requires the expansion board.

I looked around and checked with my multimeter, when only supplying 5V through the USB the Duex5 is only seeing about 2.9V on the 5V line(the WIFI has 4.9V). When I fire up my power 24V supply I am only seeing 2.5V on the 5V line for the Duex5 but 5V are on the WIFI. This is with only the ribbon cable and the 24V supply attached to the Duex5.

Thoughts? Did I fry the 5V regulator on the expansion board? Anyone see this before?

There isn't a 5V regulator on the DueX. It sounds to me that the 50-way ribbon cable is faulty.

If you test the 5V line on the ribbon cable for continuity with the cable not being plugged into the board that would be helpful.

Thanks for the quick response. You guys are seriously the best.

I think I found the issue. I flipped my board over and traced the 5v rails around and noticed something I then thought about the ribbon cable and the weird way I had to bend it. I think my header on the Duex board is soldered on backwards. I think I am only getting 3V on the 5V rail because the 5V in on the duex board is being hooked to pins 49 or 50 on the WIFI board.

Is the notch on the duex board supposed to be to the inside or outside? I checked for images and it looks like its to the outside, mine is to the inside. See picture below.

Thoughts? I didn't see anything on the wiki about the most recent boards having any issues with this.

You'll get an official answer when AM hits EU.

            Meanwhile, looks backwards to me!
