I live in Canada. I'm looking for Crimper (tool) recommendations so that I can try to source them in-country. The amount we can import without taxes (and thus fees to pay the taxes) is only $20… so local sourcing is important.

I have a crimper that I bought on eBay, but it almost always produces crimps that need "help" with pliers afterwards and/or (specifically with the type of pins supplied with the duet) requires they be carefully pried out.

search for Engineer brand, they are made in Japan and available on amazon, really great quality for perfect crimping.

I have used these on 2 builds and a lot of customizing, well built and worth it.

                From amazon.ca

These were terribly made and returned https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00DHCRVSC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Replaced them with these https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B017JU20Z6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. That will blow your budget, but you get what you pay for. These also have to be the most frustrating tool to get used to as well. There is also this one, haven't used it though, https://www.amazon.ca/Terminal-Crimping-Ratchet-Crimper-Connector/dp/B075NY2YM6/ref=sr_1_7?s=hi&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1520826933&sr=1-7&keywords=DUPONT++Crimper

Princess Auto has some really nice quick change crimpers, they're a little pricey but I'd say they're worth it.

I'm using a set off of banggood that work well enough, they were c$50 with a soft case and auto wire strippers, I ordered them from banggood's us warehouse (shipping to Vancouver) and other than DHL cutting off my apartment number on the shipping label I didn't have any import duty or anything on them.
