Duet Maestro pre-order

I was about to preorder the Maestro, but it won't ship out for quite some time, which would seem to put the actual release date very close to the Duet 3 coming out (based on Tom's video, later in 2018 or early 2019).
I'd rather get the Duet 3 if the Maestro takes that long to ship and if the Duet 3 has USB host functionality for HD webcams.

The Duet 2 Maestro will be generally available many months before the Duet 3.

What about USB host availability in the Duet 3? That will affect my purchase decision right now.

@klcjr89 the Duet 3 details have not been tied down. Current planning is to have a version with a high enough powered processor to act as a USB host, comms gateway etc.

Thank you. I will hold off from purchasing until generation 3 is ready.

Will there be a Pre-Oder for the Duet Maestro in Europe as well or do we all have to purchase at M3D?

M3D is working to shorten delivery times over the next few weeks. The first 10 units arrive this week and go to both M3D and Duet teams for review. The first batch of 500 boards arrive in May if we do not find any issues. Once we can confirm the boards design and firmware are functioning bug free we can reduce the lead time for the boards on pre sale. We are taking the Duet moto of under promise and over deliver to heart.
