Panel Due v2.0
-
Hi there, I'm new to the 3D printing and having a bit of bother setting the screen up.
So far, I have setup the Duet Wifi with the motors attached and tested it with pronterface …..... all good, but I do not get anything coming up on the panel. The wiring looks good and everything is as delivered. There is a jumper on the Panel Due PCB with the centre pin and pin nearest the speaker connected.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

If there it nothing on the screen, then it sounds to me that either the PanelDue is not receiving 5V power, or the board has not been programmed (unlikely), or there is a fault with the Pane!Due board or the display. What happens if you connect the USB port of the PanelDue to a PC? Does anything show up on the screen, and does a serial port show up on the PC?
-
A serial port shows as …... "Duet 3D printer control electronics (COM19)"
Nothing on the screen but testing the cable from the PCB shows that +4.63v is available.
What should the jumper position be on the Panel Due to set the voltage?
-
I am having the same issue. The panel lights up but the screen is blank. I moved the jumper to 5V but still nothing.
-
If it's blank, then the firmware could be missing or corrupt.

I meant connect the USB port on PanelDue to the PCB, not the USB port on the Duet.
The jumper should be set to 3.3V.

The jumper should be left on 3.3V. Changing it to 5V may damage the display.
If it's a version 1.1 board then it sounds to me that it is not programmed. See the PanelDue firmware update instructions at https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/paneldue/.
A version 2 board that is not programmed will have the display unlit.

OK ….... plugging the USB lead into the Panel Due v2.0, I get ....."Bossa Program Port (COM18)" and nothing else .......

Hey Gregk, looks to me like the firmware is not loaded or it got erased.
Check out the section on reloading the firmware in David's blog post:
https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/paneldue/The uptodate firmware is available here:
https://github.com/dc42/PanelDue/tree/master/Release
make sure you use the right one for your screen size. -
Many thanks for your help, I will try this later after my dinner.
The BOSSA software was downloaded but failed to install because it require a 32-bit machine …............ uggghhhh.

All is sweetness and light …........ downloaded the 64-bit version of bossa.exe and used the command line as suggested.
