I'm in the same situation, other than having a spare 220 ohm resistor. Since I didn't want to risk it, I decided to order some 240 ohm resistors from Amazon 🙂 (still waiting for them to arrive.. didn't notice it was going to be shipped from Hong Kong 😞 )

If you have a newer TL 3d touch it shoudl have a trace you can cut like on the original. Behind the connector on the rear of the probe

I've never managed to get my 3d touch to work reliably, had endless bed crashes
ended up going with dc42's ir probe which has worked a treat.

Your mileage may vary I may just have had a dud one.

i had a trianglelab one and it was way to inaccurate (sd of 0.05)
i ended up building a bfptouch.

didnt see that you posted in an old thread. which version of the duet do you have?
                  the 1.04 is 5V tolerant.

                    trianglelab

My Trianglelab's 3d touch fails 1 out of 4 times when probing. Maybe some extra components are needed to stabilize its operation, like a capacitor

Again sorry for late reply. I wanted to wait for the official bl touch to turn up to test first...

So far so good... No failed z (though not homed nearly enough to be sure... still early days) and no redeploying too early at all...

Only issue I have with the official touch is the plastic pin. Looks painfully fragile. If there was a crash or a curled bit of pla running into it, I can see it breaking really easily. Wish they stayed with the metal pin. I wonder if it would take the metal pin from the triangle labs 3d touch?

Oh one thing I did notice and maybe this was why the 3d touch failed, is the led on the BLTouch dims a little when the 3 z motors ramp up the revs... As if the 5v is getting drained.

I've also not cut the trace behind the plug on this one. After dave mentioning that the z probe pin on the duex2 is something like 3 to 30v volt compliant...

Of course the hump still exists, I expected as much... Still waiting for rails to come in post then I'll fit them and print out the new carriage... Hopefully should then be rock solid.

@mangy_dog the plastic pin is tougher than you'd think, but they shouldn't be making contact with anything anyway. I've managed to catch the metal pin on the edge of the bed. Being metal didn't help.

With the probe mounted at the recommended height (8mm from the base of the probe to the nozzle tip.) it should be well out of the way of the print when retracted. The plastic pin has the advantage of not being effected by any nearby magnetic fields which have become more common with the magnetic build plates. They are also cheaper and easier to manufacture to tight tolerances than the older pins.

That should not be happening. Have you wired the bltouch to the Duet as illustrated in the wiki?

@dc42 at this moment, no idea if it matches wiki, though Im pretty sure I did follow that...

I also need to correct something i said...
Z is on the z pin of the 4 pin probe header on the Duet3d not the Duex2 my mistake...

I have 5v GND and Servo connected to PWM_5 GND is connected to both GND pins of the probe...

Current only the probe and Y min and max stops are sharing that same GND line.

Z is on the z pin of the 4 pin probe header on the Duet3d

There is no "Z" pin on the 4-pin Z Probe connector of the Duet. There is an IN pin, which is where the white wire from bltouch should be connected.
