Starting a new print after canceling a print

I have noticed that if I cancel a print from either the touchscreen or DWC, then try to start a new one, it never seems to work right (heaters won't turn on, etc.). I get it working again by cycling power (a reset would probably work, too). Is that a problem with my configuration, or is that just the way RRF works?

I'm am work and can't post a config file right now...

@mrehorstdmd It's not normal. I start prints frequently after canceling another without restarting the machine.

If you cancle from the touch screen (PanelDue) you have to activate the heaters by touching each one so they turn red again. 3

Then just restart the print.

@timcurtis67 That depends on the contents of your cancel.g file. On my printer, cancel.g is empty and the tools remain active.

It's hard to know what to suggest without seeing the config.g and cancel.g (and perhaps pause.g if the printer is paused before the print is canceled.)

I'm guessing that you have T0 in your config.g file and that you don't have a cancel.g file. In that case, when you cancel a print it will deselect the current tool. Then when you start a new print, if it doesn't have a T0 command near the start of the GCode file or some other command that selects it implicitly, there will be no tool selected.
