      Hi All,

If anyone is interested I've designed an enclosure for my T3DP3D Kossel mini, designed to be cut out of 3-5mm acrylic more than happy to share the files if anyone would like them.

Using the existing bed heater it's possible to get to around 45-50°C (100°C Bed), though I may add another chamber heater in the future for printing nylon / PC as all the steppers are outside of the enclosure, May have to think about changing to a water-cooled hotend in this case though, has anyone got any experience with this?

      Cheers!

Forgot to say, the effect of the enclosure on printing ABS has been amazing, have absolutely zero warping on parts as large as 100 x 120 x 150mm!

@john-sinclair203 Checkout the Zatsit delta printer and how it uses water cooling for the break break. Ingenious.

I built a heated chamber for my UMO+ and I closely reach 90°C which was my goal.

Here is the blog post with some informations especially if you want to reach higher temperatures:
              https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/6276/pushing-my-heated-chamber-temperatures-to-the-limit/23

All in all: I have two 500W chamber heaters, polycarbonate enclosure-plates, good insulation, cooling for electronics and a water cooled hotend is a must.

I am still not finished yet because every plastic part has to be printed out of PC.
But I can say that ABS and PC in a 90°C environment prints like PLA.

A 50°C chamber is better than nothing but for printing big parts you will definitely need higher temperatures.

BTW: The water of my water cooling system gets warm (about 35°C) with a 120mm radiator and that's only because of the heated chamber. If I don't heat up my chamber the water stays ice cold the hole time.

I will update my forum post when I am finished - hopefully soon.

@phaedrux Thanks for pointing that out, amazing how simple the watercooled hotend is on that, might have to copy it. I'm a little apprehensive about the longevity of aluminium 'live' hinges but lots of great ideas on the machine!

@Christoph13524 Nice build, may have to think about insulating the rear panels If I decide to go higher temperature, good to hear a 120mm radiator is sufficient as that's what I have spare / was planning on using.

@john-sinclair203 I'm pretty sure that only the polypropylene inner layer flexes, the aluminum is cut out on both sides. At least that's my understanding of Hylite. https://www.display.3acomposites.com/hylite.html

@john-sinclair203, I think your enclosure looks pretty good. Any chance you can share the files? Also did you need to bend or weld the acrylic to keep it more air tight for ABS.
