Setting up a Duet 2 Maestro

I'm having a hard time understanding how to set up this board. I have followed the "Getting Connected" guide from unboxing to the web interface, and I cannot get the web interface to open. I receive an IP address in YAT when I type M552. When I type M552 S1 (per the guide), I do not receive a response after 30 seconds. When I try the address from M552, or the duettest.local link in the guide, nothing opens.
It does mention something about me setting up DHCP when I configure RepRapFirmware, but the guide does not go through doing that prior to this step. It seems to me you have to be connected to the interface to upload files, but you have to upload files to connect to the web interface??? Circular logic...

@todaystomsawyer You can place files onto the SD card by putting it in a PC.
If you do that you can edit the config.g file in the Sys folder.
Find the M552 command near the top of the file.
M552 P0.0.0.0Will set the IP address to null and the Duet will request a new IP address from the router via DHCP next time it boots.You could also try to send that over YAT and disable and reenable to network module, so it grabs a DHCP address, but you'd still have to go edit the config.g to make the change permanent.

I was not aware I had to have an SD card reader on my PC to use this board. I'll try to find one and report back if it does not work. Thank you.

You may be able to do this all through YAT
If you send
M552 P0.0.0.0 ; use dhcp M552 S0 ; disable networking M552 S1 ; enable networking wait a few seconds for the module to come online and get an address, then M552 P ; read back new ip address from routeryou can then use that ip address to connect via your browser and follow along with the remainder of the setup guide.
I haven't tested this, but I think it should work. Let me know. If it does, I'll add it to the getting connected guide.

I tried your previous method which did not work. I found an SD card reader and moved the files over from the reprap tool. After following the steps again, I receive "Your duet rejected the HTTP request: page not found" in my browser. I looked into this error and saw another thread asking to try M39 to see if the board sees the SD card. I get "M39: No SD card mounted in slot 0" even though my SD card is in the slot.

Try sending M122 and look for the line in the response that says whether the SD card is detected or not.

I tried another SD card with the appropriate folders and new configuration files and I can now connect to the web interface. I guess it was just a bad SD card. Thank you!

I ran through the m552 p0.0.0.0; m552 s0; m552 s1; m552 p; and got the response "Bad IP address". I then checked m39 and saw that no SD card is present. I then used a new usb card, uploaded firmware 2.02 and ran through the same process and got the same results.
I feel stuck. what is my next step?

I've submitted a warranty claim to my distributor over two weeks ago. I got a reply asking for a list of what I have tried. Sent that in and followed up with a few reminder emails, but have not heard from them. So I decided to try my luck again with the Maestro. However, I am not able to use the web control. Here is what I have working. How can I get web control to work.
I have reimaged the SD card with the latest firmware and things seem to be working. I have confirmation that the I am running firmware 2.02.

What is the IP address of your PC? Is it on the same subnet as the Duet? If you are not sure, then if it is a Windows pC, send the ipconfig command from a command prompt, and check that the reported IP address of the PC is 192.168.1.xxx where xxx != 169.
It's usually better to set the IP address of the Duet to 0.0.0.0 which tells the Duet to get an IP address from your router using DHCP. But if you know what you are doing, specifying an explicit IP address (as you are doing) is OK.
Note, the Ethernet port on the Duet does not do auto-crossover.

I have had a bad SD card issue in both Duet and Raspberry Pi. It's a pain in the butt.
