Wiring a NF-A4x20 FLX Noctua
-
Hi,
I have a NF-A4x20 FLX Noctua 3 pin fan.
I connected it to fan 0 position, I used red and black cable.
The fan works fine at 100% throttle.
But when i reduce the % of the fan then below 75% stops working and beyond 75% works at 100%.
Do i have to change something in my wiring ?thanks

@gbiski It might be that this fan is not working very well with PWM. Just a guess on my side, though.
You could try different PWM frequencies with
M106 P0 Fnnn
The default frequency is 250Hz. I would try going lower (10-100 Hz) first (as I had best results this way) but you can go up to 65kHz as well.

the NF-A4x20 PWM is the one that is adjustable.

Hah, this explains my issues with the FLX ...

Even the FLX should work with the Duet PWM.

not all non pwm fans can handle a pwm signal.

It does. I'm using a NF-A4x20 FLX.
When I first installed it I had to up the M106 PWM frequency to F5000 to work at lower percentages.Just connect the red and black and set M106 frequency to 5000.
