BL Touch Problem Duet wifi 2

@Phaedrux
I've just tried to do a G30 static test, but i get the error or needing the Z to be homed first. I cant home it without the sensor working? -
How did you do the test?

Here's the V3 thread. https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/10023/bltouch-v3-0-information-setup-and-o-scope-pictures

@phaedrux
I cant seem to do any test on it bar the fact it deploys and retracts. I can't home the z axis to preform a G30 test because the z axis proceeds to just go down past the sensor until i emergency stop then manually lift the z axis. -
@jackismad, to perform a plain G30 test (with no XYZP parameters), you don't need to home Z first, just X and Y.

I can't home the z axis to preform a G
You can use G92 Z0 to set the z axis as homed, then you can jog it around.

BLTouch V3
Is there a V3 ?
According to Antclabs website the latest iteration is classified as V2.2
-
@calvinx Yes, it's quite new though. They've only just posted the manual.

Thanks for the reponce.
I looked at the problem with fresh eyes this morning. I Found in my Homeall.g file it was calling the wrong file on this line.
M98 deployprobe.g ; deploy mechanical Z probe
and
M98 retractprobe.g ; retract mechanical Z probe
They were both like the old style Pdeployprobe.g/Pretractprobe.g. So i changed this, set the offsets then did a static test where it worked. I then proceeded to do a test, i homed all, it deployed and lowered correctly, when it hit the bed it rose 5. I must have changed a setting somewhere to make it do that. The next issue i now face, is after it rises i get a warning where robe.g couldn't be found. I am assuming i am doing something incorrectly and its not searching for the full deployprobe.g or retractprobe.g
I moved on with doing a static test recommended by @Phaedrux.
The result was with the probe deployed using the M401, When triggered the pin rises, goes red then the pin drops again with Z-probe reading 0 both times. The G30 Test, it does what it is suppose to do, it lowers then when it triggers it rises 5 again. (Need to find that in the config to stop it from doing that)
I did start the dynamic test to find the trigger height. Which i worked it out to be -0.148 lower then when it triggers. i was going to amend this when i know it is accurate with the static test working first...
Thanks again

Thanks for the info.

Can you post your homing files and config.g?
You don't need to use M98 Pdeployprobe.g or M401 to control the pin. When using probe type P9 for the BLTouch the Duet will control the pin as needed when you call G30, G29, etc.
You still need to have deployprobe.g and retractprobe.g macros in the sys folder with the servo commands in them.

@phaedrux Yeah sure, here they are, I

M98 deployprobe.g ; deploy mechanical Z probe
M98 retractprobe.g ; retract mechanical Z probeYou can remove those from homeall.g
M558 H5 sets the dive height of the probe, so that explains it lifting.
In your homeall you have
G1 Z0.5 F1500 S2 ; lift Z relative to current position
which only lifts it 0.5mm, if you change that to 5mm things will be a bit smoother. I also like to return the nozzle to 5mm above the bed after the probe is finished just to keep the pin sufficiently above the bed.If you make those changes I think things will work a bit more smoothly.
I think your probe is working as long as it's stopping the movement of the bed when you trigger the pin by hand during a G30 probe.
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Test_and_calibrate_the_Z_probe to find your trigger height.

@phaedrux Fantasic, thank you very much, just going to go through the test page now! I have just relised aswell my Z axis steps per mm is screwed up as 5mm seems more like 50mm!! Ill get this sorted then sort out the trigger height!
Thanks again for your help!
