Servo / motor noises
-
I've just got my D2 wifi / Ender 3 system up and running (first real print is on the bed), and I have a question about the noises that the servos or motors make. When the system first boots up, the machine is dead quite other than the hot end fan (its a Noctua so it is very quiet), but as soon as I run the home command it sounds almost like a fan noise coming from the motor(s). In my old setup i was running TMC2208 servos and they were very quiet during operation and no noise in between moves.
Is this something that I can tune out of the system?
Thanks

the duet wifi does not support stealthchop2 that the TMC2208 has.

@veti, is this related to micro-stepping?
I experience similar noise and wonder if there is a gcode way to force a move nearest full step. E.g. when homing and when idling.

to a certain degree. but mainly because the ender 3 steppers are low current steppers.
