I am using the following for my BLTouch:

    M558 P9 H3 F120 R0.2 T6000 A5 B1 ; Set Z probe type to bltouch and the dive height + speeds

My understanding is that the A5 means it should probe up to 5 times or until two results repeat, but whenever I probe it just does one and then moves on. Am I misunderstanding something about how this is supposed to work?

It should probe at least twice.

Where have you set that M558 command?

If you send M558 P9 in the console, what does it echo back?

How are you telling it to probe? In a homing file? Issuing a G30 in the console?

Try adding an S parameter to set a tighter tolerance. Try S0.003

Which firmware version are you using?

I found it. Researching the answers for @Phaedrux , I realized I was resetting M558 in my homeall.g file which was overriding my M558 from config.g.

            Hello,

            have the same Probem,

if I set A to any value it always probes only twice.

            M558 P9 C"^zprobe.in" H5 F120 T18000 A4 R0.7 S0.003

            using 3.3 version.

my next problem is that after the calibration the heightmap always looks identical.

I have different Alu beds and glass beds. but all of them look close. That can´t be.
Also if I rotate them the drop stays always at the same back corner. Thats not possible!

Whats wrong from ym side ?

            Thx

It is possible, if the beds are flat but the gantry height varies with XY position. I test bed probing by deliberately putting a thin item (e.g. a microscope slide, or thin piece of plastic) on part of the bed.
