      Hello everyone,

I recently bought a BL Touch clone (3D Touch) and I wanted to connect it to my duet 2 wifi installed on my Ender 3 but I can't get the probe to deploy.

The probe does the self test at boot but after that nothing.

I'v connected the probe to pin 1, 2 and 31 and using Heater 7 and got nothing, as well as pin 1,2 and 8 for Heater 3.

(I don't know why but on the configuration website you select the heater with an offset E x = H x + 1).

I'v tried using 240ohms resistor between Ground and Z probe In and that changed nothing.

I'v checked the continuity between the probe and the end of each cable and found no problem.

Here is a screenshot of the configurator.reprapfirmware website used to generate to config

Here is a pastebin of my config.json

Here are the concerned line in config.g:

      ; Endstops

      M574 X1 Y1 S1 ; Set active high endstops

      ; Z-Probe

      M574 Z1 S2 ; Set endstops controlled by probe

      M307 H7 A-1 C-1 D-1 ; Disable heater on PWM channel for BLTouch

      M558 P9 H2.5 F120 T6000 ; Set Z probe type to bltouch and the dive height + speeds

      G31 P500 X-31 Y0 Z0.6 ; Set Z probe trigger value, offset and trigger height

      M557 X20:215 Y20:215 S20 ; Define mesh grid

      If someone as solution

      Thank you very much

          Hi veti,
          here it is:

          ; deployprobe.g
; called to deploy a physical Z probe
          ;

              Still nothing 😕
I wonder if the probe being able to self test at boot but not deploying it manually shows that its either my wiring or an error in the config?

Here are the product info if it might help:
              Solenoid Push-pin Up servo signal 90Degree(ex : M280 P0 S90 )
              Solenoid Push-pin Down ➡ servo signal 10Degree(ex : M280 P0 S10 )
              Manual Self-test ➡ servo signal 120Degree(ex : M280 P0 S120)
              Alarm Release ➡ servo signal 160Degree(ex : M280 P0 S160)

3D printer z-probe Touch can be operated in the following condition.

              • One I/O (PWM or Software PWM) for control
              • One I/O for Zmin
              • GND and +5V power
If you use this on an Anet A8 then you need to cross over the YELLOW & BLUE wires. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work until I read the head unit. The Yellow is the endstop and the Blue is the pwm input, I just cut them and reversed them

              Thanks

Can you post a photo of your wiring between the probe and the Duet?

The P0 parameter in the product info needs to be adapted to whichever pin you used on your Duet.

But just to cover the basics, when you power on the printer the probe deploys and retracts a few times, and has a steady red light after?

                          @veti
I'v switched the yellow and blue wires,
with and without the resistor between blue and black wire as well
still blue led and nothing 😕

The next question now is if you get a trigger signal from that 3DTouch, I've seen several people having problem's on FB groups the last couple weeks including me 🐷

@exerqtor I can get it to deploy and work but some time the probe extends two times and other times it does not trigger when colliding with the bed 😓

Tbh i just think those sensors are next to snakeoil 😂 Given how cheap the real probes are, it's not worth the potential headache and anoyance any of the knocnoffs can make.

Some are hampered by steep fees and taxes when importing stuff, clones are usually declared incorrectly and/or below a duty free limit - I think that makes a bigger difference than $15 clone vs $50 real probe, the latter could easily be closer to $100 by the time it is delivered to me.

But thanks to your comment, I checked out their site and found their Ali Express store had a sale, $35 shipped, below the free import limit - yay!.
