        Hmm…

No place for your IR z-probe device?

That's because it has been superseded by an on-board nozzle contact sensor which doesn't care about bed type, material or colour.

            Thanks.

How does that work. The picture doesn't seem to provide that information.

I can confirm however that it works and gives me deviations of less than 10b microns

hi what's the price's estimation for the whole set (carriage, sensor if sold separately, and effector) ?

                  Delta goes BrrrRRRRrrrrrRRRRrrr

I hope to make an announcement regarding price and availability soon.

I have updated the assembly instructions at https://duet3d.com/wiki/Smart_effector_and_carriage_adapters_for_delta_printer to cover programming the sensitivity of the nozzle contact probe using the new M672 command, and to reflect changes between the prototype and production effector.

Will you be selling the arms and ball studs too or will these need to be sourced directly from Hayden?

Any chance you or T3P3 will make custom length Haydn Huntley magnetic arms and sell it all as a kit with the PCB?

We will certainly explore collaborating with Haydn on purchasing his mag arms in larger volumes to bundle with the effectors, once we get closer to a production version. That makes sense for people in the UK/Europe at least (it makes less sense to import them from the US just to ship them back).

No, this answer says they would explore it, I'm now asking as they are almost ready to announce pricing/availability whether this will include an option on arms. If it doesn't then I can order from the US now so that I have them in good time for when the effector kits become available.

I have the utmost confidence in the fact that David, Tony & Roland will fully appraise us of the available combinations when they become available. no matter how infuriating it is (for me) to be waiting for the release.

Thi is being discussed right now, but Initially I think there will be these options:

                              1. PCB effector, carriage adapters and connector kit only. This is for customers who will not be using a E3Dv6 hot end.

                              2. As #1 plus custom heatsink to replace the standard E3Dv6 heatsink.

T3P3 (who do the order processing and shipping for Duet3D), Filastruder and some of our other distributors are also E3D resellers. So it's likely that they will provide an option to buy the rest of the E3Dv6 parts at the same time, probably with a choice of thermistor or PT100 temperature sensor.

As Tony said already, we are looking at stocking Haydn's magnetic rods for the benefit of customers in the UK and Europe. I don't know whether we will have them by the time we start shipping the effector.

Would it help if we pre-ordered or reserved these so a more accurate order count can be made?

Also, are there advantages to using a four-wire PT100 sensor or is that mostly for extremely fine tuned temperature ranges?

I hope we will have news on a possible pre-order for the effector soon. We don't need to have one for the numbers, we're having plenty made because we believe it will sell well. I should have the first production units to test at the end of this week.

The advantage of a 4-wire connection is that the resistance of the wires and connectors gets cancelled out so that it doesn't affect the reading. However, E3D doesn't make a 4-wire PT100 cartridge yet. So I have a 2-wire PT100 plugged into the effector, and 4 conductors in an an 8-core cable back to the Duet. The other 4 cores are used for the Z probe connections.

It will be nice to rule out bed tilt from the new probe with a fixed bed, the variable height readings at different probe locations is the only slight weakness of the FSR sensor arrangement (and it's only a .05mm variation in my experience, which can be effectively ignore for most things).

I need to create an OpenSCAD design for a belt attachment for the PCB carriage. What are the screws spacing for a standard linear rail / the PCB carriage? I can probably make a temporary design that people can use if they are waiting on an aluminum carriage tensioner to ship.

The fixing holes on the carriage adapter are four M3 size holes on a 20mm square.

The hot end mounting hasn't changed. We managed to squeeze in 3 extra mounting holes in the production version, see https://duet3d.com/wiki/Smart_effector_and_carriage_adapters_for_delta_printer#Connectors_and_Wiring.

Might be worth giving the dimensions of the additional mounting Holes David.

Just so people can start working on mounting plates for different hotends.
