Z-Probe input signal
-
Hi all,
I'm fitted my cartesian printer with a small PINDA probe for the Z axis. Since the probe needs 5v I connected it to the 5v on the extension pins instead of the Z-Probe connector.
My question is however regarding the signal voltage. Since the PINDA works at 5v, it must return 5 volts also. Can I plug the signal cable from the PINDA directly to the board or do I have to add a diode like with the bigger capacitive/inductive sensors?
Thanks in advance,
FH

it depends on your duet version.

the duet v1.04 endstop pins can tolerate higher voltage
so you can connect it directly as written in the guide -
