Duetwifi can not be configured via Mac anymore

I've done it before using the same Mac (which has not been updated). Using the terminal app and doing the ls /dev/tty.* only returns the bluetooth interface. It no longer returns a USB tty connection. I dug deeper and it seems it always got the driver for the tty to the Duet from the Duet and the board I just got does not seem to want to send it. I tried an older Mac... same problem. Its the Duetwifi board.

Does it show up in Pronterface regardless?

Pronterface? There's no usb tty. only Bluetooth. How would Pronterface see it?
I also just tried to attach this board using a PC. Nothing. I can't get it to show as a port at all. If the board does not send out the needed into into USB it will not work. It looks like e3d sent me a bad board. I should note here that I have already successfully setup 2 Duetwifis last April and may using the same Mac.
Is there a way to set it up using a panel due???

When you plug the Duet in via USB, what lights do you get on the board? Anything else plugged in? Have you tried a different cable, or checked the cable works with another device? Have you inadvertently pressed the erase button/jumpered the erase pins, and reset the board afterwards? Have you tried without the SD card? If config.g is corrupted, and board is stuck in a boot loop, USB port won't show up; usually indicated by diag LED being lit.
What version Mac OS are you running? I'm on Mojave 10.14.6, Duet (with firmware) shows up as "/dev/tty.usbmodem14101". There is no extra driver for the Duet on Mac, there's is kernel support for it.

Funny enough my wife fell into this sort of trap the other week when trying to tether her mobile phone to the computer She was using a charging cable!!
It is now quite common for devices to be sold with a charge only rather than a full data cable most save a few pence by not having the data lines!

Charger cables not having data lines is a security feature for those using untrusted USB outlets while traveling (and also a trick to get amperage out of USB outlets because there is no power negotiation without data cables) ... but it's annoying as heck if you mix up the different cable types.
