Can't figure out how to remap the endstops. I have optical endstops that need 5v and would like to use the endstop inputs on the DueX5 board to connect theese since Duet ones only supply 3.3v
How do I do that?
Endstop remapping is not a feature of RRF 2.x while you can remap the axis to a different driver, the X ednstop etc does not move.
It is a feature of RRF 3, but that is still quite experimental, see here:
Alternatively you can power the 5V endstops from a 5V source, but connect the signal line to the Duet AS LONG AS ITS VERSION 1.04 OR LATER
See the documentation here:
If you are using either the Duet 2 Maestro or hardware version 1.04 of the Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet, these boards can tolerate 5V on the endstop inputs. So if your optical endstops do not work with a 3.3V supply, then instead of modifying them you can provide them with a 5V supply instead (leaving the centre pin of the endstop connector not connected) and connect the outputs of your endstops directly to the STP pins of the endstop connectors.
Yeah, a "external" 5v source was the solution before I bought DueX5 I guess I have to wire it up like that again..
RRF3, is it useable yet? And is it available to the current v1.04 board?
@spett RRF3 is usable, but there are probably bugs. See this thread:
If they are the type of endstop with a slotted opto switch and 2 resistors on a circuit board, it's easy to modify them for 3.3V operation.
@dc42 yes they are the slotted switch type but are encapsulated, pcb is not reachable. I could easily exchange them for 3.3v type ones but I have these and DueX supply 5v so I thought there would be an easy way to remap them.. Maybe I'll have a look at fw v3
