    • Uneven/bulging layers

Getting uneven layers/bulging layers printing with PLA (not tried anything other). Vasemode gies perfect prints.
I'm little lost here, could it be because of long bowden tube? (~1meter) Do I need more cooling? I do have two 40mm fans directed on the model.
      Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

I have a DIY printer with kraken hotend and titan extruders controlled by duet ethernet. The frame is a very sturdy milled alu frame and all axes have THK square linear rails.

    • RE: Extruder stutters when retracting

Well, it turn out to be a "feature" and not an error.. It does stutter but it is because I have "retract while wiping" on and 2mm wipe around small corners gives this kind of behaviour.

The main reason I asked about this is because I have an issue with some layers bulging, like overextruding or something. Going to start a new thread about it.

    • Extruder stutters when retracting

      Hi all!
My somewhat DIY printer is set up with Duet ethernet and DueX5, Kraken hotend and Titan extruders powered by a MeanWell 24V PSU.
I have a problem with audible stuttering when rectracting, it is not everytime but quite often. I have tried to swap stepper driver output, new cable to stepper, swapped stepper motor and changed bowden tube. Same issue remains. I'm only running one hotend/extruder now btw.

My rectraction setting are 3mm & 40mm/s right now, but slower and faster are tried.

I have uploaded a small video here (sound are better if you download the video and view it offline)
It stutters on the last few retractions in this video:

    • RE: Thermocouple configure in RR3

@Nuramori said in Thermocouple configure in RR3:

So you'll need to change the M305 command to something like:

      M307 H0 A___ C___ D____ V____ B0 ; change the values after running a PID autotune

M308 S0 P"spi.cs1" Y"thermocouple-max31856" K"c" ; Configure the bed temp sensor. This is the equivalent to your old one, assuming you're using the daughterboard on the duet and not on an expansion board.

      M143 H0 S120 ; limit the bed temp
      ..
      ..
M950 H0 C"bedheat" T0 ; define the bed heater and bind the sensor we configured above to it.

The M950 have to come after the sensor is first configured.

Thank you! That was the P value I was looking for 👍

    • Thermocouple configure in RR3

My bed heater use a K type thermocouple that worked fine in RR2 but now I can't figure out what the port names to use for thermocouple input in RepRap 3 beta firmware, I'm using a Duet 2 Ethernet controller and my RR2 config was:
      M305 P0 X150 T"k"

    • RE: Remap endstops

@dc42 yes they are the slotted switch type but are encapsulated, pcb is not reachable. I could easily exchange them for 3.3v type ones but I have these and DueX supply 5v so I thought there would be an easy way to remap them.. Maybe I'll have a look at fw v3

    • RE: Bug when not using E0 & E1

@T3P3Tony Yeah maybe I'm not using the right terms, sorry for that. It's the heaters and thermistors for the tools that are connected to the DueX5. Extruders are connected to Duet3D step drivers and one unconnected mapped to the LCD expansion connector.
I have added my config file, It's somewhat a work in progress..
