      Hi,

I bought some used THK linear rails https://www.thkstore.com/srs-m-set.html as an upgrade to my Vslots.
They slide very well but there is a bit of dried grease here and there.

Are the any cleaning issues that I should consider while using these higher end rails? There are some tutorials for cleaning and regreasing fake Hiwin rails, that tell one to just dump the whole slide into alcohol to remove the grease. Can/should I do that with my rails as well or is there a better cleaning agent/method?

A mild solvent like mineral spirits to remove the old grease works. If you can swing the $40 for THK grease specifically for LM guides do that. eBay is a good place to find it. I don't have the tube in front of me to say which version though . It's in a Bellow typically used in a gun. Don't over do it with the grease. If yours are caged then getting the old grease out will require disassembly. Personally I like to completely disassemble them if I buy a used set. You might find more than just old grease. Take care of the quality LM guides and they will last forever.
