What was the print time determined by simulation? Simulation is typically around 60 times faster than printing.

It will be 1/6th of a mold for an epoxy granite pour I plan to do.

Offtopic: Sure about that? I used an MDF mold to cast the epoxy concrete gantry of my CNC mill, and the 30mm thick outer shell was barely stiff enough for 90kg of the stuff. Compacting the stuff exerts quite a bit of force on the mold. Also, with MDF you have smooth walls as a bonus, and with the bendable MDF you can create curves.

The bottom will be MDF, the parts I am printing have fillets (technically could do without if needed) and are not just a square shape. So fabricating the mould out of MDF only would be beyond my skills. Also, I plan to use at most 30kg.

Maybe you have considered it already, but if you put a box around the print and pack the outside with sand before casting the epoxy granite inside the mold you'll have a lot of external support (thats the theory at least:)

This is actually very clever, I had not thought of this. Should I run into strength problems, I will definitely go look into this.
Since the topic of the epoxy cast has gained some interest here, I will start a dedicated thread.

I haven't tried it but seen similar solution applied to similar problem. One aspect could be the exothermic reaction of the resin softening the print as well. If I ever get around to trying something similar I'd use my green sand and let the sand/clay dry thoroughly before casting for optimal external support.
