I was wandering if there is no interest to make CAN extruder head module that would take 2 power lines and 2 data lines so only 4 wires goes to extruder rather than tens? I would imagine the board would have NEMA17 footprint with multiple outputs and probably extruder motor driver and bolt on directly onto motor back in DD situation. I am no engineer so just brainstorming. If i am correct duet supports CAN commands natively so only decoder would be needed?

@Agniusm Already exists! Only two wires go to the head, though. Which is even better. Duet 3 supports CAN, Duet 2 does not.

Actually 6 conductors go to the head: 2 power wires and 2 twisted pairs for CAN. But I'm hoping we will be able to eliminate the second twisted pair in most situations.
