I was having issues with my beds thermistor so I swapped it with one from an old hot end. I changed the config as needed and read 2000c. I hooked it directly without an extension I was using and it reads fine. The wire gauge is similar. The extension came with it from the old hotend. Thoughts?

Bad crimp or broken wire in the extension.

true enough, been using the extension for another part but it was held in such a way that worked and I did not notice that it was not a good connection.

            Open/broken normally reads -273.

2000 is more indicative of a short in that harness.
