This is probably going to get me laughed off of here, but I'm converting my Sidewinder X1 to a Duet 2 wifi. Thought I was good to go with connections, until I realized that I have no difinitive layout for my fans. I've been staring at this for a few hours trying to decide where to plug my only fan connector into. I see that others doing this have had fan0 and fan1 connected on the PWM inputs. What am I missing here?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the problem. What fans/connectors do you have to work with on the Sidewinder? I'm not very familiar.

@Phaedrux I have just the standard heatbreak and layer fan. 1 connector from the mks that reads fan. I have another 3 wire cable that runs from the PCB on the carriage, but my assumption was that it runs an LED. Maybe I've just been staring at it too long.

@adams2b22 on the SWX1 the other fan is connected to one of the extruder heater outputs. Can’t remember if it’s HE1 or HE0, but it should be whichever one has thinner wires. 😆 if you have a multimeter you can test the continuity to be sure. Also I think the heater wires connect to their own molex connector on the ribbon cable connector board.

Thank you so much! I was pulling my hair out with that one. The only thing left is the filament sensor.

@adams2b22 That’s the three white wires plugged into the touchscreen. You’re right about the brown wires going to the RGB channels of the LED. I replaced mine with a Neopixel to free up some digital I/O to the hot end carriage. 🙂 good luck!
