Unsolved Prompt where to begin recovery duetwifi and PanelDue
-
Hello!
Need help to restore the board.
Instead of 5V filed 12v
Not working panel due 7(when connecting to another panel due 7
) - works)
Not working pin ps on
the rest of the board is working.Prompt where to begin recovery

@juri79 Please post a good, high resolution picture of your board. I'd have thought that the 5V regulator would be burned. Does it work without USB power connected?

which revision of the board?
probably TR7 you need to look at.
also see https://github.com/T3P3/Duet/tree/master/Duet2/Duet2v1.04 for schematics
edit: something doesn't add up, which pin did you connect 12v? Pin 1 on that header is 5v_in and unless you have fitted the ext_5v jumper no harm should come(?); if you had the jumper fitted then it seems odd that everything but PS_ON pin works.

@droftarts
Yes. works without connecting to the usb -

when with a bit of luck it is only the mosfet (TR7) for the PS_ON pin you need to replace. picture would still be helpfull.
(although TR7 will not have any effect on a faulty PanelDue) -

ver 1.03
jumper ext_5v I am not set
No other voltage was applied to the Board. -

jumper ext_5v I am not set
that explains why the rest of the board is okay, there is no connection from the indicated pin and the rest of the board with out ext_5v jumper.
it doesn't explain why PS_ON pin died; maybe you put 12v on the PS_ON pin? (the middle of the three)
regardless of where you put 12v on that connector it doesn't offer a clear explanation as to why the paneldue failed, if you can include a picture of the wiring (power off!!) it may help diagnose.

@bearer
I have already removed the excessI'll draw it now

I cannot see how connecting 12v to that pin with the ext_5v jumper removed should cause any problem at all, its effectively disconnected.
could there be some loose strands or something on the connections causing a short?
-
@bearer
Maybe due to the fact that I pressed the power button? -
a short between PS_ON and ground would explain why that mosfet may have failed. but it has no connection to a failed paneldue so there is something missing from the equation.
-
@bearer
This of course will not help, but when turned on, the entire Board (LEDs) and screen flashed -
Unless well lit and focused pictures of the boards have any clues I don't think I have more to add I'm affraid.
Replacing TR7 (tiny mosfed between the Vin terminal and the always on fan) will likely fix the PS_ON problem, but no idea why or what caused the paneldue issue.

Thank you again.
