IR sensor Z probe on RRF3 config issues



  • Hello, I connected the DC42 IR sensor to my board using the Z0 endstop connector, and I can see that electronically the power (3V3) and connection is good (in standby the status led of the sensor is on, when I put something nearby the sensor the led goes off, also, the led on the motherboard has the inverted state of the led on the probe).

    The issue remains with the config file, in which I have the following lines:

    There's our problem. You're going to need to use the Zprobe connector instead of the zstop connector.

    With Duet 2 and earlier Duets: Connect the VCC, GND and OUT pins of the sensor to 3.3V, GND and IN respectively on the Z probe connector, and select mode 1 in the M558 command.

    Your M558 command would then become M558 P1 C"zprobe.in+zprobe.mod" H5 F120 T6000

    The direct connect LCD display of the Ender 3 will only work with the Duet Maestro, so that M918 is being ignored.

    You can also remove this line M574 Z0 P"nil" ; no Z endstop switch, free up Z endstop input



  • Okay that’s what I will do, move to the Z probe pin.

    @alexic M918 is only supported on Duet Maestro, or in firmware 3.2.

    I was explaining the error message. But be careful when using someone else’s config, it won’t always suit your machine, and may cause problems. Make sure you understand every command, and use the Gcode dictionary to help you.
