      Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the VIN-sensor in DWC. While printing the other day i noticed that my VIN-sensor is jumping between 23.8-24.2 on full load. While on idle it sits stable at 24.2.

Is this something i should be worried about? I've double checked the wiring and even replaced the cables - still the same problem.

I'm running a printer with Duet2Wifi and Duex5. For powering i'm using a MeanWell RSP 500 (24v). I have a correct wiring with ferrules (shared neg for duet and duex) on 2,5 MM² cable.

On full load the machine is powering a heater, 6 stepper motors, a ender 3 heated bed (220w), paneldue 5 and some fans.

@jontek2 said in VIN-sensor movement in DWC:

        still the same problem.

Is it a problem though? Some variation is to be expected. Are you having any actual issues?

No issues, prints fine! Just wondered what’s causing it.

@jontek2 It's caused by your heaters turning on and off and your stepper motors starting and stopping.

The VIN signal is constantly changing when the load on the power supply is constantly changing.

It's all within normal range, so you're fine.

My Duet2 12V rail (running at 13.0V)shows similar variation idle vs. printing.

Here's a quick video on how it behaves while printing: https://imgur.com/a/Kao8khP

So this is normal behavior? Anything i can do to keep it stable at 24?
