I played around with velocity painting, but the effect it had on a surface is minimal. At least with a 0.8mm nozzle and the yet unchanged jerk/acc and e-steps settings. There's not much information about the GUI or a tutorial for specific setup.
I guess, it's another roll of filament I'll spend until I've dialed it in.

Although their pictures in the web are quite nice.

@o_lampe nice that you're back to the 3d community. Let's discuss wire based printers 😉

I've made an Aramid wire-driven XY plotter lately and where ever I can, I use the dual roller constrain-method to avoid racking axis'...

@o_lampe in summer I'll have to paint a wall, a wire based hangprinter would be perfect for this. I am thinking about it...

              Ahhh, the ** Hangprinter**!
It actually made it in the hall of fame by getting a dedicated kinematic profile in RRF.

Not sure if it can paint outside of it's own print envelop?Or do you have plans on mounting it horizontally? 😉

@o_lampe the "nozzle" (the brush) can have an offset to the position - and so being outside of the construction - , so one has only to change this offset to plus/minus at the edges to get the necessary offsets. But I am currently at the idea stage, not further (no prototypes, nothing).

(not my house, unfortunately 😉 but interesting use case, to paint the correct regions, some camera data involved)

Let's get crazy and build a giant inkjet printer to spray grafitis and other Art on House Walls 😁

@o_lampe that's a good idea, and then go viral and make a challenge!

I designed a panorama frame and tried transparent PETG. It seems, Velocity painting doesn't like Arc Welder, or pressure advance, so I switched both off and got a pretty good result.

                        The frame is on thingiverse
