      Just for my own sanity.

      I bought a duet 3 Mini 5+ and want to use 4 external steppers with the 1XD Board. Should ne no Problem?

        @pcr yes that should work, although I'm not aware of anyone else using that combination.

        In theory it should be possible to run 2 external steppers from the stepper daughter board connector on the Duet 3 Mini, however in most cases you would need to level shift the signals to 5V to drive external drivers. We may eventually make a daughter board to do this.

          Would be Nice to have a "only CAN" Board. Or a 6HC with external Stepper drivers Output.

          Will be using the Hardware on a 3500mm*2000mm CNC with nema 34 with more than 6A and closed loop. 😉

                    FYI the Duet 3 Mini includes a connector for a 2-driver expansion board. We included a 5V pin on that connector, so that instead of a 2xTMC2209 daughter board, it would be possible to fit a 2x external driver daughter board.
