      Hi All,
I'm looking at one of these to brake my z axis when power is off. It'll often drop over time, and it's not great for power loss recovery either.

Square stepper motor brake black color NEMA 17 NEMA 23 NEMA 34 stepper motor brake 24V max 4Nm

I know the 1HCL boards have an output for an axis brake, but can I do something similar directly from the D3 Mini? I'm hoping I can use a spare output with a relay board to release the brake, but does RRF support that w.r.t releasing the brake to allow movement?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

      Cheers
      Barry M

@cncmodeller check out the recently added brake support:

Key point is the brake needs to be on the same board as the motor its associated with.

@CNCModeller also not its only support in RRF3.4 and later (i know you are running 3.4b5, this is for others who come across the thread)

Cool Thanks @T3P3Tony . Will get it ordered.

So what CAN address do I use of the D3 mini? Or do I just use P.1 / P0.1 if z motor is on the D3 mini driver 1?

            Re the example...

            M569.7 P40.0 C"out2" ; driver 0 on board 40 uses port out1 on board 40 to control the brake

@cncmodeller they would both be on the mainboard in this case so for example
              M569 P3 C"out2" ; driver 3 on mainboard uses port out 2 on mainboard.
