Private messages are non readable when hovered

This is something that bothered me for some time. When reading a private message here, hovering with the mouse, e.g. to copy/paste paints the entire message with dark blue that makes it very difficult to read the text.
Is it configurable? Can the color be changed for example to light gray?
To reproduce, open a private message and hover the text with the mouse.

@zapta I use the Slate theme on mac and don't get that effect at all. Could it be a feature of whatever theme you have set?
Just had a play and the default theme does do that for me as well. Yeti looks like it may be ok if you want a light theme that is.

@dougal1957 , I encoutered this problem both on mac and windows (using chrome) with standard OS color scheme. If you can send me a lorem ipsum test message I will be able to post here a screenshot here. (can't post actual messages).

@zapta I know the effect you are getting but have you tried changing the Theme for the Forum (it is under settings in the profile editor.

@zapta this is an issue with the default theme (for anyone not using that here is an example):
changing to a slate skin does not have the issue:
I need to find the time to look into how the skins are implemented and see if i can override this without changing everyone to a different default (as people get used to how skins look and may not appreciate the change.

@T3P3Tony , thanks for looking into it. This is also what I see. If it's not settable, may be worth filing a bug to the developers.
it's especially problematic when you try to copy/paste a portion of the message because it's difficult to determine where to start dragging the mouse. I encountered it when I copied/pasted mailing addresses for shipping the stepper analyzer.
