Make emergency stop fool proof
-
Hi,
I just butter-fingered the emergency stop button on mobile, because it's right under the menu button (hamburger icon) in the top left.
The emergency stop button should not be something that can accidentally be pressed. It should especially not be something that's vulnerable to muscle memory.
I'd recommend:
- Moving the button to the bottom of the sidebar, so it's not under the hamburger icon on mobile.
- Adding an alert on mobile to confirm emergency stop. This is an extra press, but the 0.5s to confirm would've been appreciated.
- Or when the menu is open, add a hamburger icon to the menu so that it can be toggled (similar to menus on other pages)
Not fun to ruin a long print 50% of the way through.

@ibash
Know your pain, i've stopped checking print status on mobile devices for this exact reason. -

Well........
I have a different opinion on EMERGENCY STOP in that it should be the most prominent button on the UI and should be almost impossible to miss in an emergency.
I do feel your pain at ruining a long print, but making EMERGENCY STOP a two-step operation greatly reduces the functionality of that feature in my opinion.

I second this. I am afraid every time I open up my mobile DWC view. E-stop should be intentional but easily accessible. It should not at all be prone to accidental triggering.
I agree that the button should be moved off to the side, or the bottom of the navigation tray. At the very minimum, it should be inset the width of the hamburger button to prevent accidental double-presses.
