Duet v3 mini bed/nozzle connection
-
Hi,
I'm finishing making the connections on the new printer, on a Duet 3 mini board.
The doubt that arises is, the heated bed is not directly connected to Duet, it is connected through an Ssr (relay) and it is the relay that connects to the OUT0 terminals of Duet, while the nozzle heat cartridge, connects to OUT 1 ...
The terminals of Out 0, appear that you hold more power consumed, are with screws, while the terminals Out 1, are normal fused protected a...
Whether it is connected through an Ssr, wouldn't it be convenient to exchange them? Connect the SSR of the bed to OUT 1, the nozzle heat cartridge, to the terminals Out 0? (the heat cardrige I plan to use is from 50w to 24v)
Another doubt I have, motivated by the problems I have had with the other Duet board, is whether in order to protect it, it would not be advisable to connect the nozzle heat cardrige with another SSR?
And what additional protection measures do you recommend?

Yes you can do that. The low voltage signal required to switch the SSR can be provided by one of the lower power outputs and you can put the 50w heater on out0 instead.

I wouldn't add any other SRR or relays in between. 50 watts at 24 volts is only 2.1 amps. The out0 terminals can handle a 15 amp load. It will be fine.
