I bought a smart effector a long time ago (rev 2.0).. however I'm absolutely lost on finding out the pitch of that nut for that blue heatsink (shipped with a monster heavy steel nut that weights more than the rest of my hotend assembly....).

It's definitely not default pitch, but some fine pitch.. 1.25? 1.0?

Really don't want to splash 19.99€ for a new heatsink because I can't find a plastic nut that fits that fine thread..

@bberger yes. The threaded heatsinks produced for us by E3D originally used 1mm pitch, which is a fine pitch M12 thread. When E3D made the threaded heatsink a standard production item, they switched to M12 course pitch which is 1.5mm. This is mentioned in the Smart Effector documentation.

@dc42 thanks for the quick info! Must have missed that in the docs..

Another thing: should I still keep that red fibre washer when going with a plastic nut?

@bberger I have printed m12 x1mm pitch nut for my 2 e3d blue heatsink and I did left the red whasher in place as it won't weight to much and prevent scratching the fine strands on smart effector if the printed nut have some imperfection on them ...

No, the plastic nut has a collar.

Not concerned about weight, but I'm a little bit concerned about giving the hotend more chances to wobble around when it's not needed.
