The connectors for the heaters and input power needs to be changed to something that does work properly.
With only two solder-point per connector, they tend break.
I had to re-solder all of these connectors, and I am thinking of pouring some epoxy and glue them firmly on the board.

It helps a lot when you hold the connectors during tightening!

Maybe so, but the connections for the extruder heaters are to small.
The design should be sturdy enough so you can tighten them.

@tomasl they no longer use those connectors on the duet 3 mini, the successor to the duet 2

I don't agree with the word successor. The D3mini is more like a replacement of the Duet2 Maestro, stepper-current wise

@o_lampe right, it's superior to the Duet2 Wifi in any other way though.

@o_lampe thats the only thing. but if you're running your stepper drivers that hard then you'd be better off with the Duet 3 (less heat etc).
The Duet 3 mini has everything else going for it, including more flash (which the duet 2 is struggling with), CAN-FD for easy expansion, 5v laser port, more IO's etc
So for me, its the successor to the Duet 2

It's really sad, that Trinamic had no other driver options other than weak TMC2209 or expensive TMC2160/5160
I'm running 3 Duet2WiFi boards and one Maestro (beside some Mellow Fly boards). It would never occur to me to replace the Duet2WiFis with Duet3minis, unless a future RRF version comes with a "must have" feature, I couldn't use otherwise.
My Deltas just run perfect with the 2.4A/0.9° steppers. With less current these 0.9° steppers are too weak to run reliable.

@o_lampe we continue to manufacture the Duet 2 mainly for our OEM customers, and they don't want any changes to the connectors because then they would need to change their wiring looms.

Flash memory is now full on the Duet 2 and RAM is getting tight too. In RRF 3.5 there are likely to be new features that are not available on Duet 2.
