Reset Machine from PanelDue
-
Strange. What firmware versions? I use the estop button frequently and don't have to use DWC to reset.
-
@Phaedrux 3.4.4, but it's not new as we've seen it in previous versions. I'll try to take some screenshots of the PanelDue in a Halted state the next time it happens. Perhaps it has to do with our use of a SBC? Not sure why that would matter, but I know there are differences..
-
Yes it would be good to know the details specific to your setups.
-
I can report a similar experience. After pressing the emergency stop button the system may hang and require the reset button to be pressed. My experience is not with a panel due but it is a similar problem. Firmware 3.4.4.
This is on a 6HC+1LC+3HC+1HCL+1HCL with SBC.
-
@Phaedrux It happens when pressing e-stop on the PanelDue when homing the machine.
-
Is this with your customized version of Paneldue firmware?
-
@Phaedrux Fair question, but no- that was put on hold after 3.3. This is happening with 3.4.1
-
@oozeBot Do you have a standalone config to test with? If we can narrow it down to the SBC that would give us more to go on.
-
@Phaedrux Unfortunately, we do not - all our machines utilize a SBC. Hopefully someone with a 6HC and PanelDue in stand-alone mode can try to recreate this issue.
-
I can try that tomorrow.
-
@oozeBot I am sorry but I cannot reproduce this problem with firmware 3.4.4 in SBC mode and PD firmware 3.4.1. Even when a homing macro is being executed, I can still press
STOP
and RRF restarts as expected. Are you using a custom plugin anywhere? Try disabling all third-party plugins and check if the problem persists. -
@chrishamm Sorry for the delay in our response on this- we let it slip. This primarily occurs when the machine is homing and the e-stop is pressed. It is easily repeatable on our machines running 3.4.4 with a SBC and the stock PanelDue firmware 3.4.1.
We have some time to further research, but so far nothing in our homing scripts has been identified as the issue. To reproduce, all we have to do is press the e-stop button while the gantry is homing in X or Y direction (haven't tested Z yet). Thanks
