Smart Effector V3 blinks one time
-
https://docs.duet3d.com/en/Duet3D_hardware/Accessories/Smart_Effector#configuring-firmware
Here are the commissioning details for using it with a Duet and RRF. I'm not entirely sure how it differs with an SKR and Marlin though, but perhaps it gives you an idea?

@Phaedrux Thank you very much. I'll either figure it out or throw it in the trash. LOL
-
Did you try the method given above?
If it's a version 2 then grounding the Smart Effector input (programming) pin for a short while when it is powered up should take it out of test mode.
-
@OwenD It's version 3. Which pin is the input (programming) pin?
-
Does it respond to M672?
-
@Phaedrux Yes sir it does.

That's unclear from the docs I can find
Will have to wait for @dc42 or @Phaedrux to comment -

It's labeled ZProbe Mod on the wiring diagram at https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Accessories/Smart_Effector#physical-connections.
You said it responds to M672. Do you mean that it blinks the LED three times after you program the sensitivity?
-
@dc42 If I send M672 S75 for example it blinks 4 times, when I reboot it blinks once. If I send M672 R it blinks 5 times, when I reboot it blinks once

@SteveP I thin there may be a problem with the EEPROM in the microcontroller on the Smart Effector, so we will replace it under warranty. Please email warranty@duet3d.com and include a link to this thread in your email. You don't need to include much detail because you will receive a reply with a link to a form to fill in.

@dc42 Thank you very much for your help!
