Help on tuning closed loop motors
-
Hi all,
We are using Duet 6 XD boards.
For Y axis, we are using Leadshine Closed Loop Nema 23 stepper with driver. (Other axis with Open Loop Nema 23 only)
We are unable to get the closed-loop tuning.
All the documents are pointing to the 1HCL board only.
How can we tune the above motor?
In the below thread, @dc42 has mentioned the closed-loop steppers motor possibilities:

'Use external closed loop motors or motors+drivers with step/dir inputs and drive them from a Duet 3 MB6XD board'
Any clear guide on the above?
Thanks

@selva_tvi have you looked at the manual for the driver?
10. Software Configuration The CS-D508 is designed for simple setup and implementation. For most applications no software configuration or tuning is needed especially when driving Leadshine stepper motors with encoders (see Appendix A). If you want to define tuning or custom configurations such as micro-step, current percentage change…, you can use Leadshine’s freeProTuner software to make
You can't use RRF to change anything, you have to hook the driver up to a PC. All RRF does is tell the driver when to move, by how much and in which direction
