STD6 hot-end installation
-
Hello everyone, I would like to place this hot-end trianglelab STD6 ceramic heating core: Heating voltage: 24V
Heating power: 125W @24℃.
Does anyone have experience with this equipment?
If I plug it in as is, isn't there a risk of burning everything?
Thanks for your help. -
@Roberto
Oops, I forgot to tell you which 3D printer.
It's a RailCore XY 300ZLT -
Do you have a link to the heater specs?
What Duet are you using?

Hi @Phaedrux,
The hotend STD6 will be used with Orbiter v2.
Duet 2 WiFi Server Version: 1.23
Here is the STD6 link:- Built in PT1000 RTD sensor
Cylindrical heater 24V 144W.
Notice that it's 144W.
I'm also adding 2 fans for the nozzle: 24v - 0.18A
Thanks.

@Roberto a 144W 24V heater will draw 144/24 = 6A. That's just within the limits of the Duet 2. I recommend that you use ferrules on the heater wires when connecting them to the terminal blocks. Also re-check the tightness of the heater terminal block screws every few hours, until you are confident that they are not loosening (which can happen because of thermal creep).
