Motors power and M906
-
Hi all. I was reading documentation again since Im planning to move into 3.5, BUT somehow I came across the M906 command. I can remember if this command was recently changed or not, not the point really b ecause eithehr way now Im in doubt if Im using the comand in the propper way.
I have a 2 amps nema 17 motor on Y axis for example, muy actual config says: M906 Y2000 (im not following the 80% rule, cooling extra added and motor is working less than warm). But my question arises from: "Duet 3 MB6HC and EXP3HC is in steps of 26.2mA."
I have a duet3 in SBC mode, with 5160 drivers.
So my question is: is my setting ok or I should be using M906 Y1414 since 2000 / 1.414 as said above :"RRF uses peak current. Divide by 1.414 for RMS current as used in Marlin implementations for Trinamic drivers"
And what about that 26.2 steps mentioned?
Sorry for the question, im not really on electronics
Thanks in advance

@Tinchus if your motors are 2000ma you should be setting the driver currents to 1600ma with is 80% of the maximum. RRF uses peak for setting the driver current.
Don't worry about the 26ma stepping thing, RRF will sort that
