Hide fan from DWC
-
I have a case fan that I set up as an always on fan. Is there any way you can set a flag to hide this fan from DWC? I tried searching the forum but didn't come up with much.

How do you have it configured? What port are you using?
If it's always on, and you don't want control, why not use an always on port or connect directly to vin?You can toggle the visibility of fans in DWC though with the "Change Visibility" button located right by the fan section.

@Phaedrux On a duet 3 mini5 which output is an always on port?

The mini5 does not have an always on port like the Duet 2 did. Instead it has more flexible ports.

Does hiding the fan control do what you need?

@Phaedrux That'll remove it on the status page but not the dashboard. I don't want it connected directly to vin running at 100% because it's loud. My option is to buy a less powerful fan or convince you to create a boolean parameter in M106 or M950 lol. I understand it would be low priority. It's not that big of a deal but it would add a little flexibility.

If you really don't want to see it for control and really don't want to run it at 100% than an inline resistor might do the trick for you. Or maybe run it from the 5v rail instead.

@ctilley79 use M950 to set it as an output pin then use M42 to turn it on at boot. Then it no longer appears as a fan

@jay_s_uk Thanks Jay. That'll work. I appreciate it.
