Orbiter V3.0, Can the "smart" hardware be used with Duet2/RRF?
-
I'm looking to upgrade my old Titan-Aeros. I have 4 Duet2 Delta printers.
The Orbiter V3 seems like the latest and greatest... not that there is a lot of info out there yet.
It says it's optimized for Klipper, that's about all I can find.If I use the V3, can I make full/most use of it with my Duet2? If so how?
-
@Ottobawt I don't think it's RRF compatible
-
@Ottobawt Is it just a filament switch or is it something more?
-
@T3P3Tony there's a toolboards etc on the orbiter

@T3P3Tony
Bunch of info here

I spoke with the designer when the orbiter v3 was being developed and he had no interest in adding RRF support

@jay_s_uk it looks like there are two parts to the electronics, a integrated board for a filament sensor and led etc. And then a toolboard on the back which is external. The toolboard is USB only so not supported but presumably a RRF compatible toolboard could be used with the filament sensor, LEDs etc plugged into it?

@T3P3Tony looks like it.
The schematics for the filament sensor and LED show its not very complicated

Messer Lorenz is more than a little supercilious, right enough.
