Newbie in need of help



  • Firstly hi all ๐Ÿ‘

    I bought a anycubic kossel plus about 2 months ago and everything works fine but I started browsing for upgrades ( bad move ๐Ÿ˜‚)
    Anyway I bought a duet wifi + 5โ€ touch screen to fit onto the printer, me being me thought โ€œOh it will be plug n playโ€ and off we go! First newbie error! Well I spent most of last Saturday & Sunday trying to get my head round all the G coding in reprap....long story short, the duet is back in its box and my brain is a little more fried than normal ๐Ÿ˜‚

    I know this is the easy way out but does anybody on here have the same setup as me where I could use their G coding files?
    This would save a great deal of hair loss & my kids hearing me swear at a printer! ๐Ÿ˜‚
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • @denke - Can you be more specific? That wizard wonโ€™t help beginners who have no idea of what values to enter or what their printer modelโ€™s settings should be.

    I have an Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus that has been installed with a Duet WiFi board. Yet I canโ€™t get it to work with the default values and no one wants to help.

    Working with the Duet board has been frustrating. But if anyone wants to take pity on the both of us, Iโ€™d greatly appreciate any help.



  • It would have been frustrating with every other available board if you don't know the settings/values you have to use for your printer.

    I don't know if it is possible to get all the settings dumped from your current board with some gcode.
    But there http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M201.html it is mentioned that you can output the current settings with "Notes View the current setting with M503."
    I don't know if this will list all the required settings, but may be worth a try.

    My printer is an Anycubic Acrylic I3 where I have changed the board from the Trigorilla to the Duet Wifi (tried several others in between).
    I have used the settings (speed/steps/...) from Anycubics marlin source code and converted them to the Duet Wifi and used them to begin with.

    If your kossel plus is using marlin and if the source code of the firmware from your anycubic kossel plus is available you may have to look into the source code and get the settings from there.



  • I have an anycubic Kossel Linear plus and I have been using the Duet Wifi now for quite awhile. I have some mechanical issues (anycubic's kit isn't the greatest) but slows it is becoming quite the work horse for me. What issues are you having with yours and I would be happy to help. Its better to learn what is going on then copying what others have done as each build is separate. For example I upgraded my steppers to 0.9 degree ones and use the smart effector. I also use the bondtech extruder.

    If it helps, here is my config file for reference. I did a horrible job commenting so please don't dig too deep in what I entered. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • By the way, I am a huge fan of the smart effecter as well and would recommend the 288mm mag rails.
