Post Process Gcode with macro

Is it possible to post process Gcode files with a Macro
I would like to search for Layer 2 and insert some custom GCode, using a macro
-
Most slicers have a facility to post process the output.

I found this for Cura:

For something simple like adding gcode commands at layer 2, I use notepad++. For more complex things like changing the mixing ratio every other layer throughout the print, I write little Python scripts. Dunno if that helps........
-
trying to avoid manual file editing, if i can
-
@adamfilip yeah @deckingman's python scripts are a good option for more complex post processing.

ok going to have to look into it. Never written Python, never been much of a Coder

Me neither. I'm a soon to be pensioner, a mechanical engineer by training and a carpenter by career choice, but I managed to pick up enough to do what I need to - via Google and YouTube mostly.
