Not connecting

  • Ok,

So after the machine working fine for so long, all of a sudden it won't connect to the wifi. No change in settings or anything, just started doing it out of the blue.

I've never managed to update the firmware or anything since it last went all south on me, and I've left it alone due to my limited computer skills, but I guess I've got to go there again now.

When I try to open the DWC on my laptop, I just get this:

    This site can’t be reached
    192.168.1.100 refused to connect.

Would someone be willing to talk me through (in plain step by step english) where to start, and after that I guess I should try to update this printer and the spare duetwifi/paneldue I have sitting here as well.

    I'd really appreciate it.

I've already tried a different browser and uninstalling my antivirus altogether with no success. It appears that the printer is not connecting to the router at all on startup, as when I turn on the printer it usually lights up the screen on the router, which it isn't now.

I must say that despite the difficulty in setting this up (for the poor old layman like me), I'm knocking out prints as good as any I've ever seen when it's working.

  • I often cycle my Duet 2 Wifi's power while doing R&D stuff or messing with the config.g file. Sometimes the IP address will change unexpectedly even though I've been consistently accessing through the same IP for a long time. For example earlier today, the IP switched from 192.168.0.8 to 0.9.

A lot of the time I'll guess a nearby number and it will work. Sometimes I have to ask the Duet through M552 what the new IP is (connect directly through USB, as described below).

If you lose DWC access, you can connect your computer to the micro USB port and use terminal / yat to communicate with the Duet over serial port. This is like Step 3 of the Getting Connected walkthrough: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7

You can check to see if the Duet (Wifi) is connected to Wifi by looking at the blue light on the Wifi module. If the light is on, your Duet is still connected to Wifi but at a different IP address. Sometimes mine will disconnect and I have to power cycle. You may need to set the Duet Wifi connection up again - just follow the link above.

  • ip switching like that would be because of your dhcp server.
If the lease is running out the dhcp server can assign a new ip to the duet.
You can also configure your dhcp server to always give the same ip address to your duet based on the mac address.

    @Corexy,

    1. Which versions of main firmware, DuetWiFiServer and Duet Web Control are you using? If you can't connect Duet Web Control then you can find the versions of everything else in the M122 report, which you can get over USB.

    2. If you send M552 from USB or PanelDue, what is the response?

    2. If you send M552 from USB or PanelDue, what is the response?

    Hi David,

If I go to the console on paneldue, I get the following responses:

    M122

    Diagnostics-used output buffers 1 of 32 (10 max)-platform-static ram used: 20320 DY

It didn't show me any versions, but the paneldue version is 1.16.

    M552

network is enabled, configured IP address 0.0.0.0 Actual IP address 192.168.1.101

I'm tipping this might be the issue?

    Cheers all for the responses.

Do you by any chance have an ASUS router, and did you upgrade the firmware on it recently? When I did that, it increased all the IP addresses it had assigned by 1. Looks like that may have happened to you too.

Looks like your connection to Duet3D was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
