Re: CNC Firmware for the PanelDue

I would love to see a CNC Interface available as an option on panel Due, if there was s toggle setting between 3d print & cnc config.

Can I raise two fingers as well? 😉

P.S. Same hand! Please do not try to think otherwise! 😄

What would you want removed from the standard interface (temperatures perhaps?), and what would you want added?

Yes! Temperatures must go away. And it would be great to have spindle control buttons, including some percentage "override" for the spindle speed.

Is spindle speed override a generally-useful feature, that should be implemented in DWC too?

What other spindle control buttons would you like: just on-off, or something else?

Spindle on (M3) and on Reverse (M4) along with spindle off (M5) would be handy.

Also Spindle RPM override and feed override would be great.

                Just my opinions.

Please specify how these functions should interact with the GCode commands to control the spindle. Should a new spindle on/off/reverse command read from the GCode file override the latest command from PanelDue? Should the Spindle RPM override be a scaling factor? The devil is in the specification.

There is already a feed rate override, it's the Speed button.

                    I would like to see:

                    • Current coordinates in the move screen (pretty useful for 3D printers too)
                    • Heaters go away, perhaps two columns of macro buttons since a lot can be accomplished with macros
                    • Toggle buttons for macros => two macros or two sections the the same macro for on/off functionality.

Added to the wish list. But there is so much on the list for ReprapFirmware that I can't say when I will be working on PanelDueFirmware again.
