Duet for a multi machine (3dprinter/Laser/CNC)
-
Hello all!
I am currently developing a multi machine (3dprinter/Laser/CNC) using Ramps 1.3 + Arduino.

I would like to upgrade and use Duet wifi.
Has anyone implemented Duet for a CNC does it work?
Also is anyone interested in joining on my venture?
Looking forward hearing from you.
Thanks! -
There are several users on this forum using Duets in CNC machines, and Ooznest has recently switched over their CNC kits to use Duets.
Good luck with your development! It's quite hard to build a machine that is a good CNC machine and also a good 3D printer, because for CNC use you need a lot of movement force but only low speeds, whereas for 3D printing you need much less force but higher speeds are desirable.

@dc42 David, didn't you make a thread about how (in the future) it could be possible to easily switch between diffrent configurations? - That might be a good thing in this case?

That'll be this thread https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/9221/supporting-multiple-configurations-on-a-single-duet/16
And it's now implemented although only in beta releases. The code is M505 https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M505_Set_configuration_file_folder

@martin1454 No worries. Yeah I couldn't think of an appropriate search term either so I just looked through recent posts started by @dc42, and that's how I found it.
