Using the Duet3 WiFi 6HC board, can I connect to my diode laser
(on cnc) directly with USB and control it using LIghtburn functions instead of DWC?

If so, is there anything I need to configure to do so?

I've tried to search here, and Lightburn, and YouTube but haven't found how.

I would like to thank all for this question - as I was just setting up and connecting my filament out sensors using a mini-micro switch (tyipical endstop switch).

I didn't read anywhere about just using 2 wires - and having all three just wasn't working.

for polbofree … if it makes any difference for you - I had to disconnect (not use) my voltage-in wire (the middle one on the DuetWifi endstop) .. and just used the two outside signal and ground.

... anyway I hope you get your's working ... but - again thank you for the question and Dc42's response!

Dc42 - will your new optical/laser sensor use all 3 wires?

This will give me enough as I've read the GCodes on the wiki several times to at least give some points to experiment with.

I know you're working on the new filament monitor - which I'm really excited to see come out.

In the meantime I'd like to add my own micro-switch filament out sensor to allow me to pause the print when the filament is out.

I have been able to look up on the Wiki and here in the forum info on how to do that .. for 1 sensor.

However, I'm doing an IDEX set up and have a U Axis.

I'm currently using the enstop headers on the DuetWifi … X, Y, E0(U) (My Z 'endstop' is a BLTouch)

For the sensor I'll need two headers. I know I can use the E1 endstop, but can I use/re-map the Z enstop to do the same?

And/Or .. is there a way to use the DueX5 endstops for this purpose. - Somewhere in everything I've read, it sounded like I couldn't us the DueX5 enstops for this.

Any direction - Gcode, etc would really help.

I'm not sure if this thread should be here in this Filament area - or in Hardware and Wiring....

So … trying to wrap my head around this ...

I would set up the Tool2 as described in the above link.

(I'm assuming I can have that configuration for Tool2 in my config.h file and just leave it there all the time)??

In my slicer (which is S3D) .. I would add a profile/printer that has a 3rd Extruder (Tool2).
Then place a single model on my platform in a position that allows for my X offset
Slice it normally (as a single model) - which would show up only once in the slice preview
Send it to the printer and it will print the 2up duplicate.

Is there anything else I'm missing on the setup?

David - thank you, this looks to be exactly what I needed.
I don't currently have any M584 commands in my config file - I guess I didn't need them because I was just using the 'normal' drivers for each motor and didn't need to 'remap' them.

Since I will need to use a Duet expansion board - this will accomplish what I need.

… oh - are there any examples of tool change code / parking / etc for IDEX set up? (being lazy here I guess)

Hi - I've tried to search the forum as much as possilbe for my answer - but haven't found it yet.

I'm wanting to had two Y-Axis motors for my set up. Motor will be mounted on the front of the printer.
As I see it (in my set up) - to move the carriage/axis forward, the right motor must turn counter-clockwise, while the left motor will have to turn clockwise.

Can someone help me know how to map the motors, and set the different rotation for each to sync?

I am using a DuetWifi, and will be adding a Duet5 Expansion board.

Full set up:
2 Z motors Leadscrews for Dual Z-Axis
2 Y motors for Y-Axis
2 X motors (1 each for IDEX) Dual X-Axis
2 Extruder motors (1 for each hotend)

thank you for that clairification.

While doing a calibration test - I found that if I tried to push the filament anything over 5mm/s from the Duet Web Interface - it was like the filament just couldn't push through the nozzles.

The extruder wasn't really skipping - more like the it was pushing hard, but just would grind on the filament.

Once I turned it down to 5mm/s - it was just fine and I could calibrate. I don't know at what speed between 5mm/s & 10mm/s is the limit but I know 10mm/s didn't work.

I ended up with:
M92 E430:412

Unless there is something else I can do - I suppose my speed is really limited to how fast the nozzles will allow filament through.

This is on E3D Chimeras with Titan Extruders with ~50mm of bowden tube from the bottom of the extruder to the Chimeras. Both nozzles are .6
